The changelog on a lead, deal, contact, company or product lists every change made to that record: the field that changed, its old and new values, who made the change and when. It also records the notes, tasks, calls and emails on the record as they are added, edited or deleted.
Opening the changelog
- Open the lead, deal, contact, company or product.
- Click the Changelog tab.
Changes are listed newest first.
Reading a change
Each change is a card. The heading says what happened, such as "Deal updated", "Note deleted" or "Task updated" followed by the task's title. Below the heading, each field that changed is listed with its old value, an arrow and its new value. Longer text, such as a note or a task description, is shown as two rows labelled Old and New. The bottom of the card shows the date and time of the change and the team member who made it.
Stages, pipelines, owners, contacts and companies are shown by name, and a deal's status is shown as In progress, Won or Lost.
What is recorded
- The record's own fields. For a deal, that includes its name, status, value, stage, pipeline, owner, contact, company and expected close date; a contact's name, email, phone number, address, company and owner; a company's name and address.
- Custom fields, listed under the field's name. Dropdown options and lookup fields are shown by their labels.
- Notes added, edited or deleted. A deleted note keeps the text it had, so you can see what was removed.
- Tasks added, edited or deleted, with the task's title. Changes to the type, outcome, status, description, owner, priority and due date are listed.
- Calls logged, edited or deleted, including the status, type, outcome, duration, agenda, notes and scheduled time.
- Emails sent from the record, with their subject and recipients, and emails deleted from it.
